The George Bonello Dupuis Garden in Qui-Si-Sana was inaugurated by Dr. Lawrence Gonzi on the 12th December 2010. It has been named after the former Finance Minister, Dr. George Bonello Dupuis.
This garden has been rebuilt in the shape of a cradle by workers from the Resources Ministry. This design was chosen so that its patrons will be sheltered from the sea wind that blows in from the nearby coast.
The Qui-Si-Sana Garden is equipped with outdoor gym equipment, a playground and a recreation area, with three water features and large reservoirs underneath.
The promenade has been extended over part of the beach, resting on columns thus providing some shade for those enjoying themselves on the rocks below.
George Bonello Dupuis had served eight years as Malta’s High Commissioner in London from 1999 to 2007. Thanks to his renowned sense of humour, he earned the reputation of being the only foreign diplomat to make the Queen smile.
George Bonello Dupuis died on the 7th January 2010 at the age of 82.
